Workers wanted in South Dakota

Need is so acute that state is hiring recruiter

The workforce shortage in South Dakota is becoming so problematic that the governor’s office is making the unheard-of move of hiring a recruiter.

Gov. Dennis Daugaard made the announcement of the new relationship with national recruiter Manpower last week during his State of the State address.

The goal is getting 1,000 skilled out-of-state workers in financial services, information technology, engineering and manufacturing to move to South Dakota....
