Don’t be stuck inside this summer. Get outside and have some fun by participating in all the events put on by the City of Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation!

· Friday, July 11, 18, 25, and August 1- Start your day by getting out and enjoying the morning with a refreshing walk with your family. Every morning their will be an informational gathering explaining things such as dress attire, proper pedometer use, ways to maximize your workout in a short amount of time, and ways to improve your overall health. The cost is FREE and activities run from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Call Mari Car C.C. to register at 367-4593.

· Monday, July 14 and 28- Sit back and take in the sites of early churches on a historical bus tour. Reservations will be taken only one week in advance and space is limited to 23 persons per tour. The tour runs from 7 to 9 p.m. and will depart from Falls Park on the West side of the park, near the Visitor Information Center. Cost is FREE. Please call 367-8222 to make your reservation.

· Monday, July 14, 21, and 28- Enjoy the sound of music as you relax on your favorite lawn chair or blanket at the McKennan Park band shell. On July 14 listen to the musical of Kaija Bonde as they portray Patsy Cline and the Gene McGowan Trio as they play an upbeat style of jazz. Then on July 21 the group Vermillion will get your body moving to the sweet sound of bluegrass. Finally, join Trefoil as they perform a Gaelic brand of music on July 28.

· Wednesday, July 30- Governor Rounds has declared this day as the South Dakota Great Day of Play. It encourages everyone to increase their physical activity by playing in city and state parks. Some of the day’s activities include a water balloon toss, Life Saver on a stick, a three-legged race, and much more. The activities start at 6 p.m. and go till 8 p.m. at Morningside Park. The cost is $5 per family. You can register by calling Oyate C.C. at 367-6185 beginning July 16.
