The time has finally arrived for you to gather all of your belongings and say goodbye to your old home. Moving day can be exciting and many times, very stressful too. Make sure you have changed your bank accounts, submitted an address change to the post office, and taken care of changing your utilities. To make the process easier on you, here are some things you can do to relieve some of the pressure when moving. Enjoy and Good Luck!

1. Have Cash- You are going to have to fill gas in your cars, along with the moving van for the multiple trips you will take to and from each house. Bring cash to eat out since there won’t be available food or appliances to cook at either home.
2. Plan Route- Plan your route to and from each house. Make sure to avoid construction areas and other areas where there could be a build up of traffic. Try and do most of the moving during the afternoon or later in the evening to avoid rush hour.
3. Coordinate Help- Ask family members and friends if they would be able to help with the moving process. Try to call them a couple weeks before the actual move to allow them a chance to coordinate their schedule.
4. Pack Carefully- Before you start packing your stuff in boxes, start sorting the items that you will take with you. Label each box, so you know what is in each one. This way when you start to unpack, you know what the contents of the boxes are. It makes it easier when you bring stuff inside. If you know the box contains kitchen supplies, you can drop the kitchen stuff off in the kitchen instead of putting it in a bedroom.
5. Pre-Pack- To make your life easier you should start packing some of your belongings prior to the day of the move. Do a little each day while taking your time to avoid misplacing your belongings. Make it a family activity so you don’t get wore out and frustrated.
